Start with a Reel link

A Reel link has a /reel/ path followed by a media shortcode. Copy it from the Reel’s share menu and paste it above. Sharing parameters are removed when the link is normalized.

For a quicker route, change instagram.com to clipig.com and keep /reel/ and the shortcode. Opening that page does not contact a media provider until you select Download.

A valid link is the first step

Recognizing a Reel URL does not prove that the video is public, accessible, or permitted to download. An authorized media source must confirm what it can provide.

If the source permits a preview but not a download, only the preview is shown. Private content and login restrictions are respected.

Saving Reels on your phone

When an authorized source supplies an attachment, select Download and check your browser’s Downloads or Files area. If the button says Open Media, it opens the source file; your browser and that source determine whether you can save it.

Never share an Instagram password or session cookie with a downloader. Only keep and reuse content within the permission you have.

Is ClipIG free?

The basic tool is planned to be free. Availability depends on the authorized media source. There is no guarantee that every link can be resolved.

Do I need an Instagram account?

ClipIG does not ask for your Instagram password. Some media sources may require an official authorization flow before media can be accessed.

Can I download Instagram Reels?

ClipIG recognizes Reels links. A real download is available only when a configured, authorized source supplies a permitted download URL.

Why can’t I download some videos?

The media may be deleted, private, unsupported, outside the source’s authorized scope, or unavailable because no provider is configured.

Does ClipIG support mobile devices?

The tool works in modern mobile and desktop browsers. How files are saved depends on your browser and the media source.

Is ClipIG affiliated with Instagram?

ClipIG is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Instagram or Meta.

Can I download private videos?
